Information

Hey guys! Today we've got a sectioned cast list featuring a sticky navigation with anchor links to jump to specific sections of the cast. This code also comes with four different cast style options, two for larger images and two for icon images, so whatever your preference you should be able to find something you like to edit or use as-is! Three of the four display options come with plenty of room to easily add more information if needed. Enjoy! ♥

The Base Coding

Paste the cast list base into an entry or code tester and then start inputting your chosen cast list style in the designated area! (Please note that any section title header after the first one needs to have a top margin, so make sure you're copying the right one for more sections.)

I’m super in love with it, ngl! I literally JUST redid my character list but I HAD to do something with this awesome coding :) (also thaaaank you forever for your tutorials on the details tag and divs because they were both super helpful when I did this)

Awww, you're so welcome! I'm probably going to be adding a little section to the details tutorial next month to cover some styling tips & tricks I've picked up while using it, so that'll be fun!

This is sexy af. Do you mind sharing that code?

Sorry for the delay, but here is a textbox :)

hi! so i'm interested in using your edit but my HTML brain is not working right now and i can't figure out what i'm doing wrong. is there any way you could post a text box with several character spots in it? every time i try to repeat the box it stacks on top of itself instead of going side by side.
Nov. 30th, 2018 03:25 pm (UTC)
Thank you so much! I'll be sure to play with this later. I appreciate you sharing your edit. :D

I really love how this could be used in games and CDJs.

A CDJ could organize their list by game if they're in multiple games, past characters, wanted characters/lines, etc.

A game could organize their cast list by fandom, faction, character type, etc.

This is super rad.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too!! My favorite codes are the ones that can easily be multipurpose haha. Thank yooou! ♥

OMG you are killing me <333333

Used with the mad max in entry layout stuff here!

This is amazing and I'm so going to use it at some point probably to keep track of characters for different games. No matter I'm finding a use for this somewhere.

i'm having trouble getting my brain to wrap around this. i don't usually have issues with this stuff.

if i want to use style one do i just copy the entire code and past it where it says cast blocks here? and repeat it until i have as many blocks as i need? because it's just stacking one on top of the other right now instead of putting them side by side.

help pls? haha
Nov. 30th, 2018 12:35 am (UTC)
Heyo, sorry you're having trouble! Okay so:

Step one is to take the contents of THE BASE CODING and paste it into an entry/code tester/your choice!

Step two is to take the contents of the type of cast entry you want, for example STYLE #2 and paste it anywhere it says Cast blocks here! (overwriting that text) and you should be all set!

Tested it to make sure I didn't accidentally mess anything up while putting the guide together (has definitely happened before LOL and it's all working on my end.
Nov. 30th, 2018 12:59 am (UTC)
i STG that is EXACTLY what i did lmao. clearly i am an idiot that messes up some minute detail in clear instructions!

THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING! ♥

Love these! I am working in style one and trying to use it for locations, is there a way to make the PB Name not centered? I tried to put another center tag and close center tag in it but it doesn't seem to be changing it?

Thank you!
Dec. 4th, 2018 04:47 am (UTC)
Thank you so much! Okay, so this code actually centers all text from the outer container, so based on how you're using this and the style you chose you'll likely want to use the code below rather than style #1; I've highlighted the part I changed so you can see how it's done! I added a justified text to the padded blurb container and kept the title centered by changing the bold tag to a center tag.

		<div style="width:235px;border:1px solid #ddd;margin:10px;">
			<div style="height:135px;background:url(IMGURL)center;background-size:cover;"></div>
			<div style="padding:20px;text-align:justify;">
				<center style="font-size:17px;font-weight:bold;">LOCATION_TITLE</center>
				Infohere
			</div>
		</div>

Oh, that should definitely work! Thank you! I also feel a lot less silly for not being able to find it on my own :P thank you for your help and your quick response!

Thank you Tess! With your help I made a new locations page! It's so much neater than our old one, thank you~
