Layouts, Codes, Tutorials, & Resources

Hey there, I'm Tess!

Welcome to my blog; I make lots of different layouts, codes, tutorials, and other resources for Insanejournal and Dreamwidth RPers! There's a lot to choose from and brand new content goes up every week!

Take a look around, and don't hesitate to ask for help if you need it!

Can't get enough resources? Why not subscribe to my Patreon for exclusive monthly content, or support the creation of more content by leaving a tip on Ko-Fi! ♡

Need an invite?

If you're unable to comment on my journal to ask for help now that anon has been turned off due to serious spam issues, don't worry! Just shoot me an email and I'll send you an invite code for Insanejournal. I've got plenty to spare!

Please Note:

I do not offer assistance with any sites other than IJ and DW unless it is for general HTML and CSS (ie. custom hosted pages and similar.) I cannot convert a code to a new site's rules because there are a lot of niche RP sites, and I have no way of knowing each one's limitations and caveats. Sorry about that!

Quick tut to help with the friend bug!

If you're needing to remove and add friends to validate them without friending buttons—especially if you have large lists—here's a quick thing that should save you a lot of time if you don't already have a similar method. ♥

Step 1: Go to your profile on whichever account you're working on (and make sure you're signed into the right one.) Highlight and copy the people you have friended.

Step 2: Paste it into Notepad or equivalent, then run a Replace All to change each comma to <br> instead.

Step 3: Stick it in here, preview, and copy your line-broken list.

Step 4: Textmechanic.com!

(You might not actually need to remove them first; if anyone knows for sure, feel free to comment and lmk. Either way, if not, you can just skip this and only do 'friend add' instead!)

Step 5: Paste into the Admin Console.

Step 6: Repeat Steps 4 and 5 to re-add your friends, and you're all done! Six steps sounds like a lot, but this all takes about a minute or two. I hope this helps some of you while we get back into the swing of things!

I think will be especially handy because it doesn't rely on add-ons or extensions! ♥ While I'm currently a Waterfox user, as far as I know there doesn't seem to be a Chrome equivalent of Checkfox.

I'm ngl, I went to the friend management page first and did a lot of unchecking, but I had to because a bug friended me to every account that has ever friended me LOL. And then I ran what was left (the accounts I'd actually friended) through these steps.

I don't think that accidental friending is actually valid, but it still shows up and clutters the profile and makes things confusing, so ehhh. (But yeah, something like Checkfox would be great. I'll have to look around and see if there's anything for Chrome!)

ATTN: CHROME USERS

I'll still have to test it, but it seems Chrome has Multicheck!
