001: Informative Info
Kicking off 2015 with a layout I've been wanting to do for a while; I'm pretty pleased with myself on this one! This is probably the most Tumblr-y of layouts on IJ now, haha. This layout features a wide, minimalist sidebar and three-column entries with no restrictions on length. Be sure to check out the friends page, too, as it functions like a normal flist to cut down on timeline confusion. :D

Also: My $30 layout (and Tumblr theme) sale is still going on, so be sure to check it out!

I don't know man I just woke up in the middle of the night and this is what happened.
Jan. 5th, 2015 10:47 pm (UTC)
This is a-fucking-mazing I want to go change all my journals to this right now
Jan. 5th, 2015 11:25 pm (UTC)
Heeee, thank you! <3 I'm so glad you like it; it's one of my favs so far ngl.
Jan. 19th, 2015 09:29 pm (UTC)
This is so wonderful. Out of curiosity, is there a way to edit the number of columns?
Jan. 20th, 2015 02:13 am (UTC)
Hee, thank you! There is a way to change the number of columns, but it's more than one step, so just lmk how many you want it changed to and I can show you how. :3
Jan. 20th, 2015 08:28 am (UTC)
I was curious about how it'd look with one column- mostly for the friendspage, which I think is usually easier to follow in linear form!
Jan. 20th, 2015 09:00 am (UTC)
OH, well in that case you don't need to do anything! It's already linear on the flist. :)
Jan. 20th, 2015 09:22 am (UTC)
I should have known. You are too much of a goddess!
If I wanted the entries themselves to be linear, how would I do that?
Jan. 29th, 2015 05:58 pm (UTC)
Question! I'm using this layout and I want to put an image in the background, but I don't want it to repeat, I just want it in the bottom corner. How would I go about doing that? I tried taking out the "repeat" in the background section, but that didn't work.
Jan. 29th, 2015 09:54 pm (UTC)
Heyo! Just change:
background:#fbfbfb url(BACKGROUND)top left repeat fixed;
To:
background:#fbfbfb url(BACKGROUND)bottom right no-repeat fixed;
And you should be all good to go! <3
Jan. 30th, 2015 12:14 am (UTC)
That totally worked, thank you so much!
Jan. 30th, 2015 05:32 am (UTC)
Eep- yeah. I have to ask for the single entry style, because I've gotten a 'the layout is too hard to navigate for RP!' I personally love it, but I can see that it's somewhat hard for people who click into the journal. Soooo, how would I make the main entries run in one column? :(
Feb. 1st, 2015 02:15 am (UTC)
thank you for this lovely layout! I love your layouts <3
Feb. 20th, 2015 04:54 am (UTC)

Feb. 2nd, 2015 08:20 am (UTC)

Feb. 20th, 2015 04:55 am (UTC)
Hee, thank you! I'm glad you like it. <3
Feb. 20th, 2015 03:23 am (UTC)
I'm using this layout as I set up my icon journal at [info]lemoncreamsicle, and a. I LOVE IT. It's ALMOST perfect. But b. I'd really like for there have a tags list. How can I make this happen? Thank you!
Feb. 20th, 2015 04:54 am (UTC)
Heee, glad you like it! <3 Just change:
.lj-view-recent .ljtags{display:none;}
To:
.lj-view-recent .ljtags{margin:10px 0 0 0;font-size:8px;text-transform:uppercase;}
And you're good to go! :D
Feb. 20th, 2015 04:59 am (UTC)
Ahhhh thank you so much! It's now PERFECT!

Is there any way to get a list on the sidebar? If not, absolutely no problem. :D
Feb. 28th, 2015 06:23 pm (UTC)
i'm curious to know if it's possible to do the tags list in the sidebar as well.
Jun. 14th, 2015 06:32 am (UTC)
Beautiful layout.
Aug. 1st, 2015 07:02 am (UTC)
Okay! Just swapped to this one! I used it for this journal and edited it to be a faux-Facebook circa 2071 since the game's set in the future. I still can't figure out those darn comment links though. I just want `comment` and `# comments.` Not link/edit entry/edit tags.

Help me plz?
Aug. 29th, 2015 10:11 pm (UTC)
I'm using this one with edits on this journal and I think I've made most of the tweaks I wanted, but something in the code seems to be making the borders on my gifs look kind of weird. Any ideas what might be causing it?
Aug. 29th, 2015 10:39 pm (UTC)
Yep! Just change
.lj-view-recent .entry img{max-width:286px;padding:5px;border:1px solid #e1e1e1;}
To
.lj-view-recent .entry img{max-width:100%;}
And
.lj-view-friends .entry img{max-width:286px;padding:5px;border:1px solid #e1e1e1;}
To
.lj-view-friends .entry img{max-width:100%;}
Aug. 29th, 2015 10:42 pm (UTC)
I literally juuuust figured that out, lol! Thank you, though! It's a gorgeous layout!
Aug. 29th, 2015 10:46 pm (UTC)
Ahaha, np! <3 Tysm!
Aug. 29th, 2015 10:48 pm (UTC)
Thank you for making it! :)
Oct. 13th, 2015 05:22 pm (UTC)
Beautiful - using it here!
Mar. 7th, 2016 02:12 am (UTC)
I love this layout. <3

I'm currently using this on a comm and I've made the edits to have a tag list in the sidebar. It's almost perfect, but I can't figure out how to turn the pesky hierarchy thing off for the tag list so that they're all one size. Help, please?
Mar. 10th, 2016 07:56 pm (UTC)
Mind sharing how you edited it to have a tags list?? :D
Mar. 10th, 2016 09:28 pm (UTC)
I did this first.

Then under the sidebar section of the code, I added:
.module-categories.module-header{display:none;}
.module-categories{text-transform:uppercase;letter-spacing:3px;}
.module-categories ul{list-style:none;margin:0;padding:0;}
.module-categories li{display:inline-block;}
.module-categories li a{background:#fbfbfb;display:inline-block;width:131px;padding:3px 1px;margin:2px;border:1px solid #e1e1e1;}

And took the bolded words out of this:
.module-about, .module-calendar, .module-typelist, .module-categories, .module-pagesummary, .module-syndicate, .module-powered, .module-ads{display:none;}

Pretty sure that's all I changed. You might have to change the width of the sidebar because the tags showed up a little off-center on mine.
Jul. 8th, 2016 08:25 am (UTC)
Thank you!
Aug. 27th, 2016 06:30 pm (UTC)
I'm using this for this journal (and a few others) and was wondering how to edit the css in order to include a sticky note :)
Dec. 4th, 2016 04:51 pm (UTC)
lovely edit! is there any way to have the recent entries to be in one column, out of curiosity?
Jun. 14th, 2017 11:47 am (UTC)
Old question I'm sure, but how do you feel about make the entries commentable from
The recent view?
Jun. 14th, 2017 03:12 pm (UTC)
Oh, that's a simple edit! You'll just want to delete:
.lj-view-recent .entry-linkbar{display:none;}

And amend the following via Replace All in Notepad (or similar):
.lj-view-friends .entry-linkbar

Into this instead:
.entry-linkbar

Hope that helps! <3
Jun. 14th, 2017 05:52 pm (UTC)
You are the best!
Jun. 5th, 2018 01:02 am (UTC)
Loving this layout! Question though, the sidebar is covering my navigation strip, which I use often. Is there a way to push it back so the nav strip can be seen?
Jun. 5th, 2018 01:17 am (UTC)
Thank you so much! ♥

If you add #lj_controlstrip{position:absolute;z-index:300;} at the end of your layout coding (or anywhere, but for simplicity's sake haha) it should push it to layer on top of the sidebar instead of under it!
