Playlist: Youtube

code by layouttesst

001: Informative Info
So I suppose I should've been a tad less laggy in posting this one, seeing as Youtube doesn't look like this anymore as of a day or so ago. Ah well. Hindsight is 20/20 and all that. Just a magic click code made to look a bit like a Youtube playlist for your musical pleasure. Holds eight songs by default. Enjoy, honeys!
002: The Code
Paste the following into a code tester, then follow the directions below!

003: CTRL+F This Shit
LINK TO YT PLAYLIST if you have your songs in a playlist on your YT account.
1 VIDEO TITLE HERE through 8 VIDEO TITLE HERE to change the title above the video.
1 EMBED CODE HERE through 8 EMBED CODE HEREto embed the video.
1 PREV IMG through 8 PREV IMG to insert the preview image in the sidebar.
1 SONG TITLE HERE through 8 SONG TITLE HERE to change the sidebar title.
by song artist x8 to change the artist.
0:00 x8 to change the runtime.

Use the old embed code or it won't work!

Getting the exact same one is a little tricky. Usually what I do is look up another popular song by the artist and (most times) the video I actually want is suggested in YT's sidebar. Then I right-click the preview, save the image, and upload it for use.
004: Rules and Shit
→Leave my credit.
→Do not redistribute in part or in whole.
→If you break something during editing don't be scared to ask me to see what happened. Yep. That's a rule.
→If you're a maker like I am and you do something cool with this I'd really like to see it, but it's not necessary.

→LJ-RAW means ya gotta BR them line breaks!
→Probably should be behind a cut, js js.

Are you using the old embed code or the default one? IJ only supports the old embed code and I really thought I'd put that on these instructions. I'm so sorry about that! I reminded myself like ten times to remember to do that back when I posted this, but. *headdesk*

where do you find the old embed code?

On YouTube; when you go to the tab for embedding, just tick the box that says "Use old embed code."

i'm afraid that either youtube has changed or i've been bleaching my hair too long because it's not giving me an old embed code option and when i found the tutorial on youtube to find it... none of what they told me to look for was there :(

Does this help?

Sep. 23rd, 2013 08:28 pm (UTC)
actually that helped at TON...

but for future ref... for some reason, youtube will NOT let you get there once the songs are in a playlist. you have to get to the old embed code from the videos BEFORE they are in a playlist or without them being in a playlist. thank you so much for the help though !!!!!
